"When I buy things, I buy each piece as if I was buying it for myself," says Neer, although many of the items are from her home or family heirlooms. Some of the jewelry in the shop is sent by her 93-year-old grandmother, who used to have a jewelry boutique in Turkey between the years of 1919 to 1960.

Gamze Neer moved from Turkey to the United States in 2003 after she met and married Chris Neer. Although she has a degree in architecture and runs an architecture and real estate business in Turkey from her computer, she opened Gamze Neer Exclusive, Unique Turkish Treasure shops so, she could share hand-made products of her culture and talk to people. She said she fell in love with the Old Bag Factory and Davis Mercantile because as an architect, she loves old buildings and hardwood floors.

The stores sells many Turkish items, including vintage and antique costume and fine jewelry, hand made beaded wall tapestries, rugs, pillowcases, purses, belts, shoes and other home decor accessories. Gamze Neer Exclusive, also presents the world's most famous Otooman Empire 14 th- 15th century Iznik (Nicea) Ceramics Myth Collection.

The colorful items add a unique flavor, much like Neer's bubbly personality, to  the surrounding shops.
